Our concept and a bit about us

Busselton’s new Fresh produce market, and we’re not called Busselton Farmer’s Market
When our concept for a fresh local food market in Busselton became public, we were asked many times if we would be like the Bunbury Farmers Market and we are still asked if we are affiliated.
We are a totally separate business, owned by 3 Busselton families who have researched this concept over time and taken the plunge to open a local fresh food market showcasing primarily local produce, and including ready to eat meals, a wholesale arm, and later in 2019, an online store, where you can drive through and collect your fresh food.

We modelled our ‘farmer’s market’ style store in Busselton on a number of successful fresh food markets; in Perth, in South Australia, in Tasmania and in Europe. The shining stars in Perth for us are; Napoli Mercato, The Good Grocer group, The Boatshed market, Herdsman Inspiring Food, Fresh Provisions, Angelo Street Markets, Basils Fine Foods, Peaches and Newies Vege Patch in Kirup. We wanted to provide a shopping experience, where fresh food shopping is an enjoyable experience. We also aim to tell the stories of the growers and producers who supply us. As I write this, we are just 13 days old, and we will be adding new experiences each week for your enjoyment. We are quite a lot smaller than Bunbury Farmer’s Market, as Busselton is a lot smaller than Bunbury, but we do have a wide range of products which we will continually add to, and you can find all your fresh food here.

Our team in the hot kitchen, led by Nicole Cuthbert and assisted by Maurice Krakowycx,  has developed a range of delicious local ‘heat and eat’ meals. Some of these are; Beef Rendang, Thai Chicken Satay, Sweet and Tangy lamb, Cottage Pie, Lasagne, and Chicken, Pumpkin and Spinach Cannelloni.  Together with our talented Sushi Chef Emi, they have developed a Nasi Goreng and a Mi Goreng ‘ready to cook’ stir fry pack showcasing our local produce with WGF unique sauces and sambals.

Toni Mustajbegivic, our store supervisor, has over 15 years of experience working at Herdsman Inspiring Food in Churchlands and Spudshed. He is also a great chef, making delicious Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse, Cheesecakes and his famous Carbonara sauce.

Our delicatessen team cooks up a range of vegetarian and gluten free options as well as slicing gourmet meats from Eurostyle Butchers, Princi and Dorsogna.

We aren’t Busselton Farmers Market as there is an existing small business with that name, situated in the industrial area. We are proudly Busselton’s new fresh local produce market, Western Growers Fresh, at 99 Causeway Road Busselton, on the big roundabout, next to Puma and Yahava Kwik Koffee. We offer great quality local produce that lasts, and healthy meals at really good value.
