We have positions available for:

Assistant Grocery Manager
This new position works closely with the Grocery Manager to order and merchandise the retail store grocery area; dry goods, meat, seafood, dairy, frozen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grocery ordering and gross profit calculations to price stock
  • Maximise Gross Profit and keep shrinkage to a minimum
  • Lead and Manage the small customer service team
  • Rostering staff efficiently within a budget.
  • On the job training of staff on POS system, food products and retail skills. Upskilling staff.
  • Plan and implement in-store food tastings
  • Ensuring the best customer service is offered to our customers.
  • Monitoring of stock levels, ensuring displays are always full.
  • The presentation and display of the goods we offer, following our brand guidelines.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation with staff and customers
  • Regular Stocktake.
  • Stock receival and dissemination to departments
  • Creation of stock displays for seasonal marketing
  • Liaising with suppliers, sales representatives and negotiating stock deals
  • Innovative, in-store promotions
  • Implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety systems.
  • Implementing and monitoring food safety practices.
  • Keeping the store well-presented and clean, with strict control over daily housekeeping.
  • Implementing and actioning store security systems.

    This is a permanent full time position (38hrs)  working one weekend day. Remuneration will be matched to experience.

Fresh Produce Manager
Permanent full time position

Western Growers Fresh have a position available open for an experienced Industrial Engineering Technologist to lead the Fresh Produce Department, ensuring quality control from the end to end of the processes, and customer satisfaction to the highest levels.

The Industrial Engineering Technologist will be in charge of the Fresh Produce Department, and must have strong experience in produce rotation, quality control, fruit and vegetable handling and storage, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technologist with experience in Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, or equivalent experience, preferred to manage the fresh produce area, perform quality control, estimate and organise stock orders, calculate Gross Profit Margin, and keep wastage to a minimum.

With the ability to work independently and to lead and train others in quality control inspection of fresh produce, different varieties of fruits, its rotation and storage. The role also includes working efficiently and productively to meet customer expectations regarding fruit packaging production orders improving cost efficiencies and working with an excellent team organisation, communication and time management, and a strong focus on ensuring customer satisfaction.
This is a permanent full time position (38hrs)  working Sunday to Tuesday. Remuneration will be matched to experience.
